TWO show homes at a major new housing development have been officially opened.

The ribbon cutting at Stonecross Meadows in Kendal was performed by the two of the first residents to complete on a new-build house there - Debbie and Alan Robertson.

Developer Jones Homes is building 110 dwellings on the greenfield site at Kendal's southern approach, just off Milnthorpe Road.

The company said it was proud to be unveiling its first ever show homes in the town.

Sales director Carol Barlow said the people of Kendal had given a warm welcome to Jones Homes.

“Stonecross Meadows has been extremely well received by people in Kendal. We’re still in the early stages of development but we already feel we have been welcomed into the community.

“Our first residents are about to move in and there are many more people who have been waiting to see the show homes, but you don’t need to be looking for a new home in order to visit us.

“We are proud to be different and would like people in Kendal to know more about Jones Homes.

“The best way to achieve this is to show them around our new homes, so we’d welcome people to come along to the development to find out more about us.”

Jones Homes says it is investing more than £300,000 in the town, with £279,300 for schools and £32,500 to improve the site's junction with Milnthorpe Road.

Four and five-bedroom houses have now been released for sale, with prices from £399,995 and features such as glass or oak balustrades, granite kitchen worktops, wine coolers, oak doors and fitted wardrobes.
