THE Haunted Through Lounge and Recessed Dining Nook at Farndale Castle is the latest play to grace the Staveley Roundhouse stage.

Running from next Wednesday, June 5, until Tuesday, June 11 (7.30pm) (not Sunday, June 9), its tells of the ladies of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society, who are attempting to perform a spine chilling murder mystery. However, not everyone is perfectly cast. Directed by Fliss Pocock, she says the Staveley show is guaranteed to bring the house down and a tale of murder, mayhem and mishaps: "We all enjoyed this silly play when we read through it but while rehearsing I soon came to realise how difficult it was going to be directing some really good actors, trying to make them act like really bad actors.”

Cast as the ladies are Alison Hine, Abi Lawson, Kate Vernon, Clare Walker and Sarah Waterhouse. Their producer Davina (played by Lydia Davies) is still not happy with their performance even as the audience is sitting down. The casting is dubious to say the least and the scenery wobbly but the cast do their best to make their play (with the longest title in the world) a success.
