AN AWARD-WINNING national delivery company is looking for business-minded entrepreneurs to become part of its expanding network.

DPDgroup, which delivers more than 5.2million parcels per day worldwide, is holding open days to find 16 new faces to join its ranks of owner-drivers.

The delivery firm is hiring ten full-time owner-drivers, as well as six part-time weekend drivers. It invites anyone interested in the positions to attend an upcoming open day:

  • Carnforth Depot, Keer Park Industrial Estate, on Saturday, June 22, between 11am and 3pm
  • Midland Hotel, Morecombe, on Thursday, June 27, between 9am and 5pm
  • Royal Kings Arms Hotel, Lancaster, on Wednesday, July 3, between 9am and 5pm

Information on the roles and support to apply will be available at each event, and knowledgeable staff will be on-hand to answer questions.

Regional Recruitment Manager, David Thomason, said: “With business growing by up to 14 per cent year-on-year, and with the opening of our new depot in Carnforth, there’s never been a better time to join DPD.

“We want individuals with the qualities we call the DPD DNA: respect, accountability, passion, flexibility, hard work, and honesty. We expect all our employees to uphold the high standards that have made the brand such a phenomenal success.

“Applicants will also be required to pass tests on driving skills and road safety. If that describes you, then you might be just the person we’re looking for.”

Owner-drivers pay a fee of £300 to acquire a DPD franchise of their own. The fee covers a week’s training – during which successful applicants will be paid £360 – and necessary purchases, such as uniform.

Fully-specced vans are available to lease directly from DPDgroup at competitive rates, so not having a vehicle is no obstacle to applying.

Booking is not required to attend the open days, but for more information, contact David Thomason at david.thomason1@dpdgroup.co.uk or visit drivers.dpd.co.uk.
