Road blocked after collision between two HGVs on A66
THE road is now clear following an earlier road traffic collision between two vehicles on the A66.
A stretch of the A66 was blocked due to the collision near Appleby.
Emergency services were on the scene as well as the police.
A Cumbria Police spokesman confirmed that police "were called today at 11.46am following a collision involving two HGVs travelling towards Penrith."
The crash happened between B6542 Appleby-In-Westmorland and the Long Marton turn off Crackenthorpe.
