A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a river.

The body of Simon Dodds, 43, from Ambleside, was found in the area of the River Kent near Levens Lane on August 13 at around 3pm.

It followed a two-day search by emergency services investigating an incident at the River Kent at around 6.40am.

A 30-year-old woman from Ambleside was arrested today on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Detectives are continuing their appeal for witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage taken in the area of Nannypie Lane or that might have seen a vehicle in the nearby layby between 9pm on Saturday 10th August and 7am on Sunday 11th August.
