ORGANISERS of the Westmorland County Show have been working closely with the police, Highways Agency and Cumbria County Council to ensure that traffic going to the show causes as little disruption as possible to other road users on the day.

This is one way you can plan your journey to make the most of the county show.

It is advised not to follow your satnav, but instead to follow the directional yellow signs and travel early on one of the following routes:

lFrom M6 Northbound: exit at J35;

lFrom south Kendal: use the A65 past the hospital;

lFrom north Kendal and the Lakes on the A590: exit at Brettargh Holt roundabout and use the A6 through Milnthorpe.

lCrooklands Bridge will be open but only used one way towards the show from 7am to 1pm.

Better yet, leave the car behind and make use of the free bus services operating from Kendal bus station and Milnthorpe.

You can buy advanced discounted tickets online (offer available until midnight on Sunday, September 8). Tickets can also be purchased on the day and from a number of outlets and village stores in the region.
