POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a burglary in Kendal in which thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken.

The incident occurred on Milnthorpe Road on Friday, September 6 between 11.30am and 7.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: "The offender entered a house and stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from within the address, some of which are of great sentimental value to the victim."

Police are asking for any witnesses, or anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, to get in touch with police.

Police also reminded residents in the area to remain vigilant, to keep premises secure by ensuring windows and doors are locked, and to report any suspicious circumstances to police on 101.
