OWNERS of a bed and breakfast in Windermere are donating a two-night stay to a former Thomas Cook employee following the travel company’s collapse.
Paula and Graham Smith of Lingmoor Guesthouse are providing the opportunity for a member of staff, and a plus one, to enjoy a night away, free of charge.
Last week, the Gazette reported on the generosity from kind hearted businesses and local organisations who have also shown support to the members of staff suddenly left without jobs.
The 178-year-old agency was seeking £200 million in extra funding before it collapsed.
“When we heard what happened to Thomas Cook we could relate to how people must be feeling and wanted to do something to help,” said Mrs Smith.
To be in with the chance of getting the two-night stay, former Thomas Cook employees are asked to email their name, address and phone number to info@lingmoor-guesthouse.co.uk as well as including a proof of redundancy. A winner will be chosen at random.
