A CELEBRATION of work to make all Cumbria's churches dementia-friendly is to take place on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
Churches Together in Cumbria will host its fourth annual Dementia Conference at Penrith Methodist Church, Wordsworth Street, Penrith, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Among the speakers will be Wendy Mitchell, who lives with dementia, and Colin Capper of the Alzheimer's Society, giving an update on latest research into the condition.
The Dementia Project was launched in 2016 and aims to ensure that all the county's churches are dementia-friendly by 2020. Key to its success is recruiting "dementia enablers" to help make people feel welcome at places of worship.
