TWO people were arrested after a taxi driver was allegedly punched in the face in Kendal.

Police said two males threw food through the drivers window while the taxi was waiting at traffic lights near the Town Hall.

A verbal argument began and the taxi driver was reportedly punched in the face, sustaining a cut to the face which needed medical treatment.

The alleged incident occurred at around 9.15pm on Friday.

Two males were arrested shortly afterwards and interviewed the following day. They have been released under investigation.
