Customers of the Royal Oak Inn, Bowness-on-Windermere, have had a new attraction in their pub over the last couple of months - the JayBox online jukebox which is made in Penrith and now sold all over the country.

Manger of the Royal Oak, Dave Coulson says the JayBox has 'a fantastic' choice of tracks.

Launched 12 months ago after four years of research and development, the JayBox is now installed on over 60 sites, which are all connected by the internet to the company's headquarters in Penrith.

"The beauty of the JayBox is the massive choice of music which we can offer to customers - 50,000 tracks ranging from the 1950's through to the latest chart hits which are included in the 200 new tracks we supply every week." said Richard Elsy, Marketing Director of JayBox.

The case for the machine was designed in the county by Foskett Hylton, Sandford. The steel is cut by Lakeland Laser, Kirkby Stephen. The box is fabricated by Bennett Engineering in Kendal.

ASM Leisure of Windermere are responsible for installing the machine.

JayBox has an established research and development programme which is pushing ahead to deliver more new features to customers. Already available are wifi hotspots and a Bingo programme and work is starting on Bluetooth applications on some trial sites later this year.
