The A6 has been closed in Cumbria between Shap and Kendal due to heavy snow at the Shap summit.
The closure covers the area between the M6 junction 39 slip road south of Shap and the Burneside junction, just north of Kendal.
County Council highways teams are attempting to clear the route.
They are also working to assist ongoing efforts to fix water issues affecting parts of Cumbria, following the extreme weather of the past few days.
Diversions are in place along the M6 motorway.
