HOLYHEAD Coastguard tasked BSAR to assist in the rescue of two people trapped in their vehicles at Sandside Near Milnthorpe yesterday.
On arrival, Arnside and Morcambe Coastguard had extracted the two people from their vehicles and got them to a safe place.
One casualty was experiencing chest pain and the Ambulance Service were called, but due to the height of the tide they couldn’t get their Ambulance anywhere near the scene.
On their Facebook, Bay Search and Rescue ssaid: "BSAR provided a unique taxi service to them and their equipment with our Hagglund based in MIlnthorpe, wading through the flood water and depositing the paramedics safely at the house where the lady with chest pain was being looked after by the Arnside CG team.
"It was a superb effort by all teams and agencies.
"Please don’t chance driving through flood water, it simply isn’t worth it."
