CROSTHWAITE and Lyth Parish Council met on February 4.

Mike Welch and Sally Ainsworth of United Utilities attended the meeting and spoke about work being done to improve the water supply to the parish. Disruption to water supplies due to bursts in the Gilpin area has been addressed.

Further work is to be done from Smithy Cottage to Greg Hall in February 2020 and from the Smithy to Durham Bridge in 2021.

There are issues with the supply from Foulshaw to Whitbarrow where work is being done over the coming months.

Any issues arising as a result of these works - for example: loss of supply, low pressure or disruption caused by traffic lights during engineering works - may be reported round the clock on 0345 672 3723.
