AN AWARD-winning North Yorkshire cheese shop has announced it will donate money to help feed African communities for every subscription to its 'cheese club'.
The Courtyard Dairy, based near Settle, is supporting Send a Cow, a charity which helps rural communities living in poverty in Africa by providing them with the training and resources necessary to produce their own food.
£10 from every three-month subscription to The Courtyard Dairy's 'cheese club', which sees members receive a monthly delivery of raw-milk cheeses to their door, will go to the charity.
Andy Swinscoe, of The Courtyard Dairy, said: “It’s great we can promote all that is brilliant about farm-made sustainable cheese, whilst at the same time raising funds for a charity which makes a positive difference to families in Africa.”
The scheme has been born out of 'Februdairy', a campaign set up in 2018 to celebrate the British dairy industry and dairy products in general. Word is spread mainly across social media platforms.
