ORGANISERS of a renowned food festival have launched a search for adventurous eaters on National Chilli Day.
The Lake District Chilli Fest, held annually at Holker Hall, will take place on September 5 and 6.
The exciting event traditionally features a chilli eating contest which sees competitors with a sense of adventure line up to put their taste buds to the ultimate test.
Heather Creasey, manager of Holker Hall, a magnificent Grade II-listed property near Grange-over-Sands, said the festival was a landmark in its annual calendar of events.
“We always look forward to Chilli Fest each year, so National Chilli Day seems like the perfect time to start our search for Holker’s 2020 fiery food stars.
“It’s always a well attended, much-loved weekend that draws people from near and far, with something for the whole family to enjoy.”
National Chilli Day is celebrated this Thursday, February 27.
