A 69-year-old woman sustained an ankle injury while descending a Lake District hill yesterday afternoon.
She slipped on Place Fell, which overlooks Patterdale. The resulting injury prevented her from walking.
At around 2.30pm, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team members made their way to the scene where the woman was treated and evacuated to a team vehicle.
The incident lasted four hours and nine team members were involved.
