CONGRATULATIONS are in order to Britain's biggest family who welcomed their 22nd child last week.

Sue Radford, a former pupil at the Queen Katherine School in Kendal, welcomed her new daughter on April 3 with husband Noel, 49.

Their daughter has not yet been named.

Their new arrival weighed 7lbs exactly when she was delivered at 10pm at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The couple announced the birth of their daughter on their Facebook page, accompanied by a vlog on Youtube.

The post read: “We welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world on Friday night.

“We’re all so in love with her.”

A picture was also shared on the family’s Instagram.

In the vlog Mrs Radford, whilst on the way to her induction, revealed that she was nervous and that it didn’t get any easier.

“So many people say does it get any easier? No guys it doesn’t," she said.

“It still hurts and you still get nervous.”

The Radfords own baking company Faraday’s in Heysham and also run Radford's Pie Company, remaining open for online orders during the coronavirus pandemic. They live in a nine bedroom former care home in Morecambe.

Sue and Noel have been building their brood for just over 30 years.

Sue gave birth to the couple’s first child Chris when she was 14.

Another vlog posted a few days later showed their baby girl being introduced to her brothers and sisters back at home. Many of the Radford children lined up ready for a cuddle with their new sibling.

The couple are also grandparents four times over with a fifth on the way.

Their eldest child Chris has daughter Maisie and their eldest daughter Sophie has three children, Daisy Mae, Ayprill Louise and Leo. Daughter Millie, 17, is expecting her first child in September.

The family shot to fame after appearing in Channel 4’s documentary television programme '15 Kids and Counting' which gave an insight into their incredible lives.

Since then, there have been annual updates on the family with ‘21 Kids and Counting’ airing in January last year.

Due to coronavirus guidelines, new baby Radford has been unable to be registered. It is usually a legal requirement for a baby to be registered within 42 days.

However registry offices are currently closed with authorities postponing new registrations for the time being.
