A SCHEME aiming to provide activities for young people in Kendal and to give them the opportunity to make new friends is officially up and running online.
Kendal Youth Zone, a Sandylands Residents’ Association (SRA) project, is currently limited in what it can do due to the coronavirus lockdown, but online streaming services including Twitch are being utilised to help get information out to young people.
Cllr Adam Edwards, SRA chairman, said the youth zone would be a place for young people to “come and and hang out” and enjoy music, games and technology including virtual reality headsets.
It is set to be based at the Castle Street Community Centre but Cllr Edwards said he hoped to reach out to communities in various different areas of Kendal in the hope that the youth zone could occupy various bases and locations.
