AN EDEN man has pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
Forty-six-year-old Ralph Brook, of Swindale Cottage, Brough, committed the offences by driving a silver Mercedes C220 along the M6 southbound at Killington Lake Services on May 12 and High Street, Brough, on May 18.
On Twitter, a Cumbria Police spokesman said Brook 'made off' after being stopped on May 18, with the vehicle being 'dragged onto the back of a recovery truck without keys'.
The spokesman said Brook was arrested the following day 'in fields near to his house'.
Brook pleaded guilty to two counts of driving without insurance and two counts of driving while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on May 26.
