KIRKBY Lonsdale’s pebble snake has gathered more than 1000 stones along the Lune river.
Hundreds of pebble artists from the town and the local area have left hundreds of stones and pebbles along the riverbank in Kirkby to spread messages of hope and kindness during the COVID-19 virus.
Starting back in April, the pebble snake has grown by several stones every day. Signs were left around the start and tail of the snake reminding members of the public that the stones were not for taking, after some stones were taken. Dog muck was also found around the display.
Messages included dedications to Captain Tom Moore, NHS workers, family members and song lyrics.
