RESCUERS were called out after a sheep became trapped 15m down a pothole in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) attended the incident at Fife Pot on Ingleborough.
A CRO spokesman said four team members carried out the rescue as a training exercise.
“As farmers had cleared the fell of sheep during the afternoon, this sheep was taken by trailer to the nearest farm and returned to its flock, seemingly uninjured.”
The incident on July 1 required a total of eight volunteer hours.
