A PENRITH man has racked up a court bill of more than £300 after admitting failing to comply with the terms of the sex offenders register.
Ionel Ficau faced magistrates in Carlisle on Tuesday and admitted failing to engage with officers, as required by the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The breach took place on October 26 last year, with the sex offenders register requiring Ficau to annually notify the relevant authorities.
He was originally due to face magistrates in June, but the case was moved to Tuesday.
Ficau, of Bridge Street in Penrith, was fined £225 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32. He was also told to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service for the offence.
The charges must be paid by August 25.
