WITH pupils receiving their GCSEs, Queen Elizabeth School has praised its students for once again exceeding all expectations through their work and effort.

QES Headteacher, Cathy O’Neill said: “We are proud of the hard work and resilience of all our students receiving their exam results this summer. Like most schools in the UK, despite submitting Centre Assessment Grades we were confident of earlier in the year we had some curious A level and BTEC results initially and we shared our concerns in the South Lakes Federation of Schools in lobbying for a quick resolution to the unsatisfactory situation. We are pleased that there was the change of heart earlier this week as these Centre Assessed Grades for both year groups were very carefully and appropriately awarded earlier in the year; our exams team managed this situation with real integrity and thoroughness and we want all our students to feel confident that their grades are the well-deserved rewards for their efforts throughout their courses. Most importantly, students in Year 13 and 11 are continuing to receive support and guidance, be that competitive university courses and degree apprenticeships, local colleges or Sixth Form.”
