KIRKBY Lonsdale will not be holding any further face to face meetings with its town councillors until next year.

During the last town council meeting held online on Zoom, it was agreed by Kirkby's Cllrs that meetings held in person would best be postponed until 2021.

This came following advice from the Cumbria Association of Local Councils.

Kirby has asked Cumbria County Council to make the community Covid-safe as soon as possible. Town councillors agreed to write to the local authority urging them to introduce restricted parking and a lower speed limit, now that support for these precautions had been received from the town council and the Chamber of Trade.

The play park in Kirkby is to be refurbished. The town council have had equipment professionally assessed and this has identified several areas where improvements could be made. The council’s play partnership group want to ensure the play park remains safe and attractive for all users, and have launched a £40,000 improvement programme.
