A man who assaulted a woman and was in possession of a quantity of cocaine has been made subject to a community order by magistrates.
Kelvin Buckley, 25, of Rinkfield, Kendal, appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates last week where he admitted two charges.
The court heard how Buckley, on May 19, admitted to assaulting a woman. The incident in question took place in Kendal, the court was also told.
On the same date, he admitted to being in possession of a class A drug, namely cocaine.
He was handed an 18 month community order by magistrates, which will run until March 2022.
He was also ordered to comply with requirements set by the magistrates.
Alongside his order, he was also told by magistrates that he will have to carry out a total of 80 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months
For both offences, the bench at South Cumbria Magistrates Court ordered him to pay a victim surcharge worth £90 and £95 prosecution costs.
