EACH year the Salvation Army launches a Christmas Appeal to make sure every child in Barrow has a present to open on the big day.
On a normal year, the Salvation Army would ask for donations for new and unwrapped gifts that would then be sorted and passed on to families who are referred to them.
But this year they are taking on a virtual approach.
The organisation is asking for selfless members of the public to donate money so families can be provided with gift vouchers to The Entertainer toy shop.
The donations will enable the team of volunteers to work in a Covid-secure way and, importantly, will allow parents the chance to choose presents that they know their child will love to receive.
A £20 voucher will be given to every child that is referred.
A spokesperson of Barrow's Salvation Army said: "Thank you for giving - your generosity will make a real difference to someone's Christmas."
