WOOLLIAM the knitted Christmas tree has raised £300 for the Great North Air Ambulance during his residency in the pharmacy.

The tree, crafted by members of the WI and Knit and Nat, has attracted many visitors and Facebook friends and will return next Christmas due to popular demand.

Thanks to all those who contributed via Justgiving and the collection bucket in the pharmacy.

WI members at the monthly meeting today entitled Get Campaigning with the WI will hear about the success of past campaigns, then discuss this year's five proposals before selecting which resolution should progress to national level (Thursday, January 14, 2pm, on Zoom).

THE playground remains well-used by children of all ages.

Three picnic tables with benches have been installed, funded respectively by SLDC, Grasmere Village Society and a second home owner in memory of her late husband.

WORDSWORTH Grasmere events continue on Zoom, with several free poetry groups and open mic sessions.
