THE clock tower above the balcony on the roof of County Hall in Stricklandgate.
Built in 1939 by local builders G.F.Martindale as the County Hall for Westmorland, it is now where Cumbria County Council hold their meetings.
The Hall includes the local registry office and archives department for Kendal and Westmorland, it was visited by Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip in 1956 during their visit to the town.
