Barrow Community Sports Trust 's popular live virtual football sessions are set to return during the third national lockdown.

Craig Rutherford, the Community Sports Trust's manager helped keep people fit and active while also raising spirits during lockdown last year by producing more than 50 videos.

The content included ideas for family activities to keep them occupied.

Now the offering is set to return with the country again facing stricter measures in a bid to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to the club's website, Rutherford said: “When schools and grassroots sport were stopped during the first lockdown, Kayden and I wanted to do something to help families and spend some quality time together.

“We advertised that we would do some football skills and activities in the garden and stream them live to Facebook – and they went down so well it turned in to a daily activity!

“For over five weeks we streamed live five days a week from Monday to Friday, developing from football skills to games you can play with your family – and even my daughter Grace began joining in!

“With recent news, we thought it would be a good idea to reopen The KC Garden Stadium and begin the streaming again – and hopefully it’s something a little positive to help families keep going and enjoy physical activity together.”

The videos will be live each weekday from 3pm and can be viewed on the trust's Facebook page.
