A CARLISLE man has been spared prison after indicating a plea of guilty to an assault charge.
Carlisle’s Rickergate Magistrates’ Court heard that Bryan Dance, 57, of Millholme Avenue, assaulted a man on August 5, in Carlisle, causing him actual bodily harm.
After hearing the case, magistrates suspended a 16-week jail sentence for 12 months.
But Dance must comply with a 16-week curfew and pay compensation of £250.
Alongside the compensation, he will pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim services surcharge of £128.
