A doctors surgery has been forcered to remind patients and their families to be kind to their staff.

Wigton Group Medical practice issued the message yesterday explaining that as a result of staff sickness and increased demand. The surgery is under 'immense pressure' and only have on the day appointments for urgent issues.

In a post from their social media they said: "Please be kind to our reception staff.

"Due to staff sickness and a significant increase in demand for appointments the surgery is under immense pressure.

"We are unable to increase the number of GP appointments any more than we already have done and therefore waiting times will increase.

"On the day appointments are available for urgent medical issues only, not ongoing problems.

"Reception Staff will do their upmost to assist you, please make maximum use of alternative services and self-help."
