PLANS have been put forward to build camping pods for luxury doggy daycare and kennels.

A proposal has been submitted to South Lakeland District Council to build four bespoke wooden camping pods at the rear of The Duke in Farleton, near Carnforth.

The plans, submitted by Annie Golden of Pooch Pet Services, described the pods as an 'alternative to standard kennels' which will provide comfortable sleeping quarters for dogs.

According to the proposal, the luxury pods would sleep a maximum of three dogs at a time, however, to board 12 dogs at any one given time is 'unlikely'.

The owner of the camping pods will also provide a daycare option for dogs whilst their owners are at work.

All dogs will be invited to a taster session before ending daycare which will last two hours long and will be booked at a time when boarding dogs have been exercised and fed.

According to the plans, the owners hope to build the pods in June pending planning permission.
