A FESTIVAL promoting music, dance and folk art in South Lakeland is taking place in Ulverston this weekend.

Furness Tradition began with 'fireside stories' in the beer garden of the Hope and Anchor pub last night.

Today there will be live music from the Tom Bradley stage at Market Cross, beginning with ceilidh band Out on a Limb.

Out on a Limb will be followed by Rita Baugh and then Mike Willoughby and Rick Middleton.

Storytelling is also taking place at Ford Park today, although spaces are limited and the advice was to book in advance.

A number of online events are being held over the weekend, including an online concert at 7.30pm today. There is a discussion tomorrow in which storytellers will consider climate change and hopes for the next UN Climate Change Conference.
