POLICE: Authorities thank members of the public for assistance
CUMBRIA Police have praised members of the public who helped prevent a driver's dangerous driving as they reached speed of 100mph on the motorway.
The Motorwat Police wrote on social media: "A huge thank you to both members of the public who rang in regarding a driver described in excess speed of 100mph on the M6 J18.
"The male & vehicle was located stopped just off J18.
"A member of the public detained the male until police arrived The driver provided a positive breath test with a road side reading of 179 #Arrested #MO16 #HS32 Cheshire Road & Crime Unit."
