THERE was a fantastic turnout at parkrun events across South Cumbria.

Over in Millom there were 62 participants, with 24 personal records set.

Simon Chapman finished first for the men in 18.57, taking second was Luke Bennett in a personal best of 19.14, and in third place was John Rodgers in 19.49.

For the women, Sharon Dixon finished first in 21.09, Joanne McLeod was second with a new personal best of 23.12 and in third was Susan Dowker-Thompson in a new personal best of 23.20.

Barrow saw 144 runners on the course, with nine personal records set.

First to cross the finish line for the men was Oliver Matharu in 17.28, second was Will McNally in a new personal best of 17.40, and in third was Nathan Harris in a new personal best of 18.30.

Finishing first for the women was Tyga Steele in 20.41, next was Karen Ann Maggio-Poyntz in 21.47, followed by Liz McNally in 22.20.

Rothay Park parkrun saw 136 people take part, with eight personal records set.

First for the men was George Loxton in 18.12, second was Ross Bibby in 18.15, and third was Ian Hales in 18.48.

First for the women was both Katherine Anne Davis and Martha Wightman in 21.06, followed very closely behind by Penelope Teoh in 21.07.

Ford parkrun saw 87 runners take to the 5k route, 18 personal bests were set.

James Maher finished first for the men in a new personal best of 19.36, second place was Liam Widdrington in 20.20, and third was Max Hazlehurst in a new personal best of 20.37.

Sue S Leonard finished first for the ladies in 23.09, second was Julie Anne Field in 24.02 and third was Aileen Baldwin in 25.03.

An impressive 328 runners took part in Fell Foot parkrun, with 41 new personal bests set.

The fastest man was Reuben Copley in a new personal best of 16.32, next was Alex Duthie in 18.36, followed by Andy Robinson in 18.41.

The fastest woman was Rachel Gifford in 19.38, next was Sophie Cowin in a new personal best of 20.25, followed by Chessie Messenger-Jones in a new personal best of 20.43.

All parkrun organisers thanked the volunteers who make the weekly Saturday events possible.
