A TOWN band marched through Ulverston to mark 100 years since the unveiling of the war memorial.
The re-dedication service for the centenary of Ulverston’s War Memorial took place on Sunday in Market Square.
Members of the public lined the streets to watch the parade which departed the British Legion in Brogden Street at 2pm.
The parade was led by the parade master squadron leader Ray Browne and Ulverston Town Band.
The war memorial was first unveiled on May 11 1921 and dedicated by the Bishop of Carlisle on the same day to commemorate the soldiers who had lost their lives in the war.
The Grade-II listed structure was erected after the end of the First World War. In 2014, Ulverston Town Council restored the war memorial with a grant from the war memorials trust together with private donations.
