Cumbria is the third best county for adventure this autumn, according to a study.
New research from outdoor experts at outdoor equipment and clothing retailer Millets reveals the best locations around the UK which are perfect for an adventure, just in time for National Get Outside Day on Sunday, September 26.
The study looked at the number of outdoor activities including walking routes, mountain bike trails and climbing routes, as well as the natural features such as lakes and mountains, to create an overall number of outdoor activities for each county.
North Yorkshire topped the study, followed by the Highlands in second place.
And Cumbria ranked higher in third place than Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, the Scottish Borders, Shropshire and West Sussex.
