THERE are a host of places in Cumbria where little ones can see Santa this Christmas season.

Following is a snapshot of the Santa-related events taking place in the county.

Jolly old St. Nick will pop in to Barrow on December 4 for Shop Barrow Day 2021, when a range of entertainment will be laid on to celebrate the town's high street.

A Christmas market will be opened and live music and street entertainers will be performing.

There will be a 'giant snow globe' erected in which children can meet Santa.

At Old Hall Farm, Bouth, events involving Santa are taking place on December 11, 12, 18 and 19.

Visit 'Old Hall Farm' on Facebook for more information.

At Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, near Milnthorpe, Santa is 'coming to tea' on the afternoons of December 4, 11 and 18.

A spokesman for the attraction said: "The Santa special will include a special animal-handling session, Christmas-cracker crafting for the meerkats, watching the snow leopards get fed and following the Christmas trail around the zoo!

"Tea includes hot sausage rolls, an assortment of sandwiches, homemade scones, cakes, warm mince pies and drinks for everyone.

"Santa, helped by his elves, will have an individual chat with every child and give them a present to take home - so make sure you're on his 'nice' list!"

A number of Santa's grotto events are being held at The Old Brewery in Ulverston. A ticket includes a 'meet and greet' with Santa, storytime with Santa, a wrapped present, a good-behaviour certificate for the child (and bad behaviour certificates for the adults), and a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie for the adults.

The dates available are November 26, 27 and 28 and December, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.

At the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, the public is invited to enjoy Sunday lunch with Santa.

A spokesman for Castle Green said on the hotel's website: "Come and join us as we welcome Santa himself with a party to celebrate.

"Enjoy a show full of games, magic tricks and music from our local entertainer, Harvey Rush.

"We’re expecting Santa to bring a sackful of presents, with plenty to go around.

"This is a party truly created from Christmas magic."

Adults can enjoy a two-course meal in the meantime.

The events are taking place on December 12, 19 and 24.
