STAFF and nursey children have a fun packed day to help raise money for Children in Need.

Ramsden Robins pre-nursery situated on Thwaite St, Barrow help raise money for this years Children in Need charity by wearing their best Pj’s or spotted clothes and taking part in baking yummy treats to sell at the school’s bake stall.

Manger of the nursery, Clare Johnson said all the staff and children had a good day for such a good cause.

She said: “The children came into nursery on Friday either dressed in spots or wearing pyjamas to kick-start the fun packed day they were about to get stuck in with.

“They baked Pudsey bear biscuits to sell at the bake sale to raise money which the staff and parents would buy and donate to the charity.

“Altogether we raised £70 which doesn’t seem a lot in the grand scheme of things but if it can help at least on person, it’s worth it.

“The Baby room also got involved and had Pudsey story time with some Pudsey special books.

“In the main room we made Pudsey bears out of yellow play dough and bear cutters which they all enjoyed; we also did some colour matching activities where we would match pom pom colours. Not only was this fun but it was educational for them too.”

Clare expressed the importance of teaching the youngsters the act of giving money to those less fortunate than themselves.

She said: “We explained to the older children who would understand it more that the activities they have taken part in has helped raised money which will go to children who don’t have homes or anywhere to go but at a level they would understand.

“They were really happy with themselves and enjoyed it, even the babies with the help of the staff.

“We all enjoyed it and was an excellent day!”
