A BARROW man who failed to provide a blood specimen when suspected of having driven was handed a suspended prison sentence and a curfew at court.
Deejay Richard Walker, of Raleigh Street, committed the offence in Barrow on September 8 of this year.
Walker, 22, pleaded guilty and was handed six weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.
Court documents say the sentence was suspended due to there being a 'realistic prospect of rehabilitation'. His guilty plea was taken into account.
Walker was sentenced to a six-month curfew between 7pm and 7am each day. This has already begun.
He was ordered to complete a 30-day 'building better relationships' course.
Walker also pleaded guilty to, again on September 8, driving a vehicle - an Audi - for which no test certificate had been issued.
This offence was committed in Roose Road, Barrow. No separate penalty was issued for it.
