A TALK is set to be held at which the public can learn more about the return of beavers to Cumbria after a 400-year absence.
The animals made a limited comeback in 2020 as part of a five-year scientific trial aiming to obtain data on the impact of beavers in upland environments.
Two adult beavers were released into the 27-acre Lowther Estate, near Appleby.
And David Harpley, conservation manager at Cumbria Wildlife Trust, is to give a talk discussing their return at Thwaites Village Hall, near Millom, on January 14.
The event is taking place between 7.30pm and 9pm. Booking is required and there is a recommended donation amount of £2.50, to be made on the evening.
Visit the 'what's on' section of cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk to book.
