POLICE have issued a scam warning after a dog-walker was reportedly offered a gold chain in exchange for fuel money.
Around 1pm on January 9, police received a report that two men in a vehicle approached a dog-walker and asked for money for fuel, and in return they would offer him a gold chain.
The incident occurred in the Ingmire/Brigflatts Lane area of Sedbergh,
The dog walker had no money, so they drove off.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said the incident is likely to be a scam and the force has had similar reports recently.
They are urging the public not to offer cash to anyone you do not know.
