A POPULAR music festival is making its long-anticipated return after two years of cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
South Cumbria Musical Festival will be returning in full force this March following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis.
The festival, which traditionally takes place at the Coro Hall in Ulverston, includes solo, duet and band performances, as well as readings of poetry and dramatisations.
It is a favourite for music fans both young and old, with many school choirs joining in with the fun.
The 44th running of the festival will take place from Monday March 21 until Sunday March 26, followed by a gala concert on April 1 at St Mary's Church in Dalton.
The South Cumbria Musical Festival was formed in 1976 and has developed over the years to become one of the most respected competitive events in the country.
All aspects of the performing arts are catered for in the many and varied selection of classes in music and speech.
Individuals, schools and groups of all ages and standards can acquire invaluable experience and have the benefit of performing before an audience.
