ULVERSTON’S Swarthmoor Hall is currently undergoing an extensive renovation and restoration project which aims to revitalise the 1600 home.
The Hall is a Grade 2 listed building and is known as the Cradle of Quakerism.
The Hall and grounds are currently closed to the public ahead of work starting.
The first phase includes an extension to the parking provision and incorporation of charging points for electric vehicles.
The render on the Historic House will also be removed and replaced with a traditional lime render.
A spokesperson for the Hall said: “It’s exciting to see work starting at Swarthmoor Hall and all the staff here are looking forward to seeing the house returned to its former glory”.
