AN ESTATE in Kendal remains on Cumbria Police’s ‘problem list’ after incidences of anti-social behaviour.

The force reported that after speaking to several groups during stepped up high visibility patrols, anti-social behaviour on the Hallgarth Estate in Kendal had ‘reduced significantly’.

But, on March 26 and April 2, there were reports of children playing in the school grounds of St Thomas’s School out of school hours.

A force spokesman said: “We have advised and given words of advice to the children to stay out of the caged area and play football on the field instead.

“This is to stop any ASB issues causing an annoyance to residents whose homes surround the school grounds.

“After the young people were spoken to, here have been no further calls.

“Hallgarth Estate continues to be on our problem profile list.

“High visibility patrols will continue in the area.

“We have been doing this for a few months now and after speaking to several groups antisocial behaviour has reduced significantly in the area.”
