CARLISLE is set to be action-packed this weekend, with a plethora of events taking place in the city

Platinum Jubilee celebrations – Of course, the major event of this weekend sees the nation celebrate 70 years of Her Majesty’s reign. Events are set to be held over the weekend at Bitts Park, Denton Holme and Brampton Community Centre to name a few.
Mercury – The Ultimate Queen Tribute, The Sands Centre – Celebrating over 20 years performing together, this act, performing on Friday, has played in front of Brian May, Roger Taylor and Freddie Mercury’s relatives.

Lost In Music - One Night At The Disco, The Sands Centre – On Saturday, you can relive some of the greatest songs of all time from artists such as Donna Summer, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Chic.
Cumbria’s Military Festival, Carlisle Castle – On Friday and Saturday you can meet reenactors and visit their displays, including a range of historic military vehicles on the Parade Square.
Paul Lamb and Chad Strentz, Old Fire Station – With a long list of tour dates with the full Paul Lamb and The King Snakes lineup, the duo are still able to perform their Chicago blues as a duo, arriving in the city on Sunday.
Farmers’ Market, Carlisle Cathedral – The monthly market returns on Saturday for you to grab some tasty goodies and perhaps a lovely craft piece.
God Rave the Queen – Walkabout are putting a twist on the Jubilee celebrations on Saturday, with the best drinks, giveaways and an immersive experience that promises the best of Walkabout has to offer.

Pig, Brampton Community Centre – Experiencing a Hollywood renaissance, the Brampton Film Club will host a screening of this Nicolas Cage film on Saturday, about a chef shuns the restaurant business to live deep in the forest with his truffle pig.
Run Cumbria Solway Half Marathon 2022 – Starting at Anthorn, Wigton, the marathon is a flat and fast route on the scenic rural roads of northwest Cumbria.
Closet Organ, The Source Collective – The Glaswegian four-piece arrive in Carlisle on Saturday to perform some obtuse, melodic grunge music.
