The SPAR has issued an urgent recall of one of its products due to allergy concerns.
SPAR is recalling SPAR Spread Up Hazelnut Choco 400g because it contains almonds (nuts) which is not mentioned on the label.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts.
Products affected have a best before end date of June 2022, August 2022, September 2022, November 2022 and December 2022.
The Food Standards Agency said: “SPAR is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
“The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.”
Customers have been advised not to eat the product and return to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
