Kendal picked up a huge win after they defeated bottom of the table Vernon Carus by seven wickets.

The Auld Greys who were desperate for some form made light work of the newly promoted hosts after Chris Millers return of 5-19 and Matthew Parks 4-11 saw Vernon Carus all out for 63 off 30.5.

Despite a slow start to the second innings, Oliver Tyson's undefeated 20 and Rongsen Jonathan's undefeated 17 saw Kendal to victory in just 14.3 overs closing on 65-3.

Kendal who won the toss and elected to field had the hosts toiling on 31-4, when Chris Miller claimed three wickets after he caught and bowled Yasin Patel, before seeing off Ben Duerden and Kasun Mudiyanselage, while Joseph Dodds ran out Wes Royle.

Matthew Park brought into the attack trapped Jack Airey LBW, while Miller saw off Jamie Rigby who was caught by Darren Nightingale.

Kendal ripped through the lower order where Matthew Park before taking the wickets of Jacob Holland Matthew Timms, while Chris Miller caught and bowled Irshad Desai with the hosts all out for 63 off 30.5 overs.

With a low score on the board, Kendal started slowly when Joseph Dodds was trapped LBW by Matthew Timms.

Darren Nightingale regained some momentum where he scored 20 off 17 before he was bowled by Timms.

Kendal went onto lose their third wicket where Timms trapped Chris Miller LBW, however Rongsen Jonathan's undefeated knock of 17 off 27 and Oliver Tyson's undefeated 20 off 32 balls saw Kendal close on 65-3 off 14.3 overs.

Kendal host second placed Longridge at Shap Road on Saturday.
