A play by a Cumbrian playwright will be shown in both Manchester and London in July.

The play is called On Me and takes place on the set of a fictional true crime TV series. It follows a romance between two actors Shona and Christian.

The play explores themes such as gender-based violence and female safety in a sensitive and occasionally humorous way.

Caroline Lamb is originally from Sedbergh. She said:

"It's extremely exciting to have one of my pieces playing in two major UK cities in the space of a single month.

"Not only am I very proud of On Me, but I'm also in awe of the amount talent that is being poured into both of these challenging productions."

On Me will be directed by Alison Griffin and performed at The Questors Theatre in Ealing from 18-22 July as part of the Questors Festival of New Theatre, and then on 27-30 July a separate cast will perform the play at the Seven Oaks in Manchester as part of the Greater Manchester Fringe festival.

Helen Parry will direct the Manchester run with production company Dangerous To Know, and will include a BSL interpreted performance.

Caroline recently graduated from the University of Manchester's MA Playwriting course.
